Kamal founded Kamal Osman Jamjoom Group in 1987 with the opening of The Body Shop store in the western region of KSA. The Group today has over 700 stores across the GCC with multiple retail brands including own brands such as Nayomi & Mikyajy, longside franchise brands like The Body Shop and Early Learning Centre. Both Nayomi, a women’s lingerie and nightwear brands, and Mikyajy, a cosmetic and fragrance brand were developed by Kamal while CEO of the Group.
Kamal began his career in 1982 with Procter & Gamble in both the USA and in Saudi Arabia. Over a seven year period Kamal worked initially in manufacturing on the production lines then moved to operations management, process engineering, and quality lab management. Kamal then moved to marketing and after several years became the Brand Manager for detergent and dishwashing brands across the Arabian Peninsula. Kamal graduated from Lacnhester University, UK with a BSc. in Production Engineering.
Hisham Al Amoudi has been working for KOJ for two decades and is responsible for Business Development, his direct responsibilities included managing successful negotiations for all new stores in an existing region, whilst overseeing the group’s expansion into new markets. He has worked closely with the founder in growing the business from a handful of shops in Jeddah in the nineties to over 700 stores across the GCC today.
Hisham has focused his career on establishing and growing the main international brands The Body Shop and Early Learning Center as well as KOJ private brands Mikyajy and Nayomi. During his tenure Hisham has also managed several support services functions.
Stephen Holbrook manages the Nayomi lingerie, Nayomi Abaya, and Soiree brands within the KOJ Group. He joined the Group in January of 2013 and has over 20 years of apparel industry experience managing brands such as Playtex, Wonderbra, Gossard, & Shock Absorber; as well as developing long term strategic partnerships with Marks & Spencer and Victoria’s Secret.
Prior to joining, Stephen was responsible for the Courtaulds Women’s Wear Division and was a Non-Executive Director of a leading London PR firm. Stephen holds an MSc from the Cranfield Institute of Technology.
Jim holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in East Asian Studies (Japan) from Yale University in New Haven, along with an MBA from Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration in Boston, USA. He commenced his career with L’Oréal in New York in 1993 as an Assistant Product Manager, however strategically managed his career over an 18 year period gaining experience with some of the world’s leading Cosmetic Groups.
Jim first joined KOJ in 2011 for a period of 3 years as Brand Director for Mikyajy, responsible for the development of the Brand. After a short break, he re-joined us in February 2018 as Deputy CEO Beauty Division, now responsible for the management and development of all our beauty brands.
Ian Halliwell is our Deputy CEO - Support Service, overseeing our Human Resource, Information Technology, Supply and Distribution and Store Developement Group. He joined the Group in December of 2005 and has over 20 years of International retail background with retail groups such as Kingfisher Group of companies, Marks and Spencer PLC and Arcadia Group in the UK.
Prior to joining Kamal Osman Jamjoom Group, Ian was responsible for the development a number of retail stores across the UAE including those of Debenhams Group.
Richard Winsor holds a BSC in Accounting Statistics, and is a qualified FCA and ACA from the Institute of Chartered Accountants. He commenced his career with Deloitte and Touché in London where he developed to the position of Principal Manager in 1997.
Before joining KOJ as Chief Financial Officer Richard spent 11 years in airport retailing in roles ranging from Finance / IT Director to Business Development Director, through to European Chief Executive Officer for one of the major Duty Free Companies based in Europe. Richard is responsible for effectively controlling our Groups Finances.
Jameel Jamjoom holds an MBA from the University of Bath and has been with KOJ for more than five years.
Before joining the family business he gained work experience in the banking industry with HSBC. In KOJ Jameel has completed many rotations within the business and worked in functions such as Buying, Locations & Leasing, Business Development, and Franchising & Brand Management.
He is currently the Business Development Director for the Group’s expansion in the MENA region.
Jameel was educated in the UK from an early age and aims to take a leadership role in the family business in the future.
